Fujikura Ltd Shares Jump After Upbeat Guidance as Investors Bet on Data-Center Momentum

March 3, 2026 08:56 By Haruto Sato

Last Trading Date: Tokyo 2 March 2026

Shares of Fujikura Ltd surged in the latest session after the company lifted its full-year earnings guidance, reinforcing investor optimism around accelerating demand for data-center and telecommunications infrastructure.

The stock closed at ¥28,425 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday, 2 March 2026, marking a gain of ¥1,660 or 6.20% from the previous close of ¥26,765, according to market data from MarketWatch and Nasdaq. Intraday trading saw the shares fluctuate between ¥25,890 and ¥28,475 before settling near session highs, reflecting strong buying interest into the close. After-hours indications were relatively stable, with no significant reversal in sentiment.

The rally follows Fujikura’s announcement on 9 February that it had revised upward its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2026. In its press release and regulatory filing, the company cited stronger-than-expected performance in its information and telecommunications segment, particularly tied to expanding global data-center investments and fiber-optic cable demand. Management highlighted improved operating margins and robust order intake as key drivers behind the upgraded outlook.

Investors appear to be positioning for continued structural growth. The global build-out of AI-related infrastructure and hyperscale data centers has been a major tailwind for cable and connectivity suppliers, and Fujikura has increasingly been viewed as a beneficiary of this trend. The company’s exposure to high-performance fiber and power solutions has supported a re-rating in recent months.

Analyst commentary has also turned more constructive. According to data compiled by Investing.com, the stock carries a Strong Buy consensus rating, with an average 12-month price target around ¥26,130 and bullish estimates reaching as high as ¥40,800. TipRanks-aggregated research notes indicate that several brokerage firms adjusted their price targets upward following the guidance revision, citing earnings visibility and expanding margins. While the stock now trades above the consensus average target, analysts argue that continued upgrades could follow if order momentum sustains into the next quarter.

The broader Japanese market provided a mixed backdrop. The Nikkei 225 traded unevenly during the same session, as gains in technology-linked names offset weakness in select financial and cyclical stocks. Currency fluctuations and global macro uncertainty also contributed to choppy trading conditions. Nevertheless, Fujikura outperformed the benchmark by a wide margin, underscoring the company-specific nature of the move.

From a valuation perspective, some market participants note that the shares are approaching historically elevated multiples. However, proponents argue that structural growth in fiber deployment, 5G expansion, and AI infrastructure could justify a premium. Technical analysts, as cited by StockInvest and other market tracking platforms, point to sustained upward momentum and above-average volume as confirmation of bullish sentiment.

Looking ahead, traders are closely watching the company’s next earnings release scheduled for early May 2026. Updates on margin sustainability, backlog trends, and capital expenditure plans will likely determine whether the recent rally has further room to run. In addition, any commentary on global demand trends or supply-chain dynamics could serve as incremental catalysts. With the stock now trading near recent highs, the upcoming quarterly report may prove pivotal in shaping Fujikura’s next directional move.
